Villa d’Este La Collezione is born
The new brand that combines the excellence of Villa d’Este hospitality
Villa d’Este, a global icon of luxury hospitality with over 150 years of history, presents “Villa d’Este La Collezione,” the new brand that brings together and promotes the group’s excellence.
The initiative represents a strategic step in the brand’s growth, with the aim of consolidating its presence on Lake Como and promoting a contemporary vision of Italian excellence, based on authenticity, elegance, and responsibility towards the local area.
The new brand brings together the establishments that have already become symbols of Villa d’Este hospitality – the hotel of the same name in Cernobbio and Villa La Massa in Florence – and is preparing to welcome two new prestigious destinations: Palazzo Venezia in Como and Miralago Luxury Apartments in Cernobbio.
With these openings, Villa d’Este La Collezione strengthens its ties with Lake Como, the place where it all began and which, over time, has made the name Villa d’Este synonymous with style and hospitality on an international level.
Palazzo Venezia, located in Piazza Cavour in Como and overlooking the lake, will open on December 6, 2025, as the city’s first 5-star hotel affiliated with The Leading Hotels of the World. After careful restoration and complete rebranding, it will offer intimate and refined hospitality, where classic elegance meets contemporary sensibility. The highlight will be the Altariva Restaurant & Bar, a panoramic rooftop restaurant led by Chef Alessandro Rinaldi, who will offer cuisine rooted in the territory and capable of enhancing its flavors in a modern key.
June 2026 will see the opening of Miralago Luxury Apartments in Cernobbio, the result of the transformation of the former Hotel Miralago by Droulers Architecture.
The project combines traditional charm with contemporary design, offering eight luxury apartments designed to combine the comfort of home with the services of a five-star hotel. Guests will enjoy a dedicated concierge service, daily housekeeping, e-bikes, personalized breakfasts, and privileged access to the facilities of Villa d’Este, including the Sporting Club, swimming pools, and Golf Club.
With a long-term vision in mind, Villa d’Este La Collezione is already looking to the future with new restoration and enhancement projects. In particular, Villa Belinzaghi, a neoclassical residence built in 1860 by Count Giulio Belinzaghi and adjacent to Villa d’Este, will be given a new lease of life thanks to a major conservation project. It will be transformed into an exclusive residence with suites, restaurants, bars, a cigar lounge, and a spa surrounded by greenery, restoring splendor to one of Lake Como’s most iconic residences.
At the same time, plans are underway to redevelop the historic Hotel Regina Olga in Cernobbio, which is set to become a landmark of hospitality on Lake Como once again, with around 50 rooms, a restaurant, and spaces overlooking the lake.
“Villa d’Este La Collezione opens a new chapter in our history, confirming our desire to continue investing in the region and in Italian excellence,” comments Giuseppe Fontana, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Villa d’Este S.p.A. “For over 150 years, we have represented the art of hospitality, and today we look to the future with a project that combines tradition, innovation, and a deep connection with Lake Como.”
Led by President Giuseppe Fontana and CEO Davide Bertilaccio, Villa d’Este La Collezione now comprises four high-profile destinations: Villa d’Este (Cernobbio, 1873), Villa La Massa (Florence, 1998), Palazzo Venezia (Como, opening December 2025), and Miralago Luxury Apartments (Cernobbio, opening June 2026).
This project demonstrates the group’s desire to further raise the standards of luxury hospitality and promote Lake Como as an international model of elegance and sustainability.
