The Arte Solidale Festival Returns in September

A fusion of music and social engagement: a series of chamber music concerts bringing together young musicians from around the world

The Arte Solidale Festival is a fusion of music and social commitment: a series of chamber music concerts that brings together young musicians from around the world for an artistic residency on Lake Como, with the goal of promoting
emerging talent while supporting at-risk children in the Como area. Founded in 2015, the Festival is entirely organized by young artists and is driven by the belief that culture and solidarity can grow together.
Every September, the historic villas and mansions around the lake open their doors to the public to host refined programs, performed on period instruments and 19th-century pianos in a historically informed style, ranging from Viennese Classicism to late Romanticism.
The twelfth edition features two pre-festival concerts on September 1 and 3, and six chamber music events between September 5 and 13, held in Como and Pianello del Lario, showcasing artists skilled in performing on period instruments from Japan, Mexico, the United States, Poland, Spain, and Italy. In addition to four very young talents from Como who will open the various festival concerts, ASF presents its new Young Artist in Residence, violist Jaume Bosser Toca.
As with all Arte Solidale concerts, these are charity events with admission by donation. Donations from the audience are entirely donated to projects supporting vulnerable and at-risk children in the Como area, in collaboration with the “Azalea” Social Cooperative in Tremezzina and the Como Children’s Coordination.
From the concert dedicated to Schumann and Chopin on the historic Erard piano at Villa Imbonati, to the “Aperitivo a Quattro Pianoforti” in Griante, including the concert among historic boats in Pianello and the matinee at Villa del Balbianello, the festival
offers a variety of themed programs, where artists-in-residence take the stage in various ensembles—from duos to quintets—celebrating music, the lake, and charity. The festival, which includes a tribute to Italy at Villa Carlotta and a tribute to Mozart at the Albergo San Giorgio in Lenno, will culminate with a performance of a rare chamber version of Beethoven’s “Eroica” Symphony in Como, at the Centro Cardin Ferrari.
